On the Launch of Kanagawa Prefecture’s Cashless Consumption Stimulation Project

We are pleased to announce that Kanagawa Prefecture’s Cashless Consumption Stimulation Project was launched as of October 25, 2021 (Mon.) by a joint venture with participation from NETSTARS Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Tsuyoshi Ri).

This project is designed to support industries in Kanagawa Prefecture that have experienced a decline in sales due to the spread of COVID-19. Here, consumers will be able to make payments at retailers, service providers, restaurants, and other businesses in Kanagawa Prefecture using a QR code (*2) payment service through Kanagawa Pay (*3). In this special project, Kanagawa Prefecture will refund points to consumers up to 20% of the payment amount (maximum of 10,000 points per person, with one point equivalent to one yen).

We will continue to make our best efforts to contribute to the project as a member of the managing joint venture.

Also, going forward, we will continue to develop and provide cashless payment services, including via QR codes, to contribute to the revitalization of local economies throughout Japan.

(*1) The joint venture consists of The Bank of Yokohama (President: Yasuyoshi Oya), Qoil Inc. (President: Kentaro Oda), ATM Japan, Ltd. (President: Hiroshi Nakano), and NETSTARS Co., Ltd.

(*2) “QR Code” is a registered trademark of Denso Wave Incorporated.

(*3) Kanagawa Pay is an application specifically designed for this project that uses a unified QR code determined by the joint venture. It supports QR code payment for au PAY, d-barai (Docomo Pay) (*4), Hama Pay, LINE Pay, and Rakuten Pay.

(*4) “d-barai” is a registered trademark of NTT Docomo, Inc.
