On Our Participation in Kanagawa Prefecture’s Cashless Consumption Stimulation Project

We are pleased to announce that NETSTARS Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Tsuyoshi Ri) will participate in the joint venture (*1) operating Kanagawa Prefecture’s Cashless Consumption Stimulation Project.

This project is designed to support industries in Kanagawa Prefecture that have experienced a decline in sales due to the spread of COVID-19. Between July 1, 2021 (Thu.) and September 30, 2021 (Thu.), consumers will be able to make payments at retailers, service providers, restaurants, and other businesses in Kanagawa Prefecture using a QR code (*2) payment service through Kanagawa Pay (*3). In this special campaign, Kanagawa Prefecture will refund points equivalent to up to 20% of the payment amount to the consumer.Applications to become a participating merchant opened on April 1, 2021 (Thu.)

As a member of the joint venture, we are responsible for the development and operation of the Kanagawa Pay mobile application, operation of the QR code payment system infrastructure. Here, we will support businesses in Kanagawa Prefecture and promote cashless payment systems tailored to modern lifestyles.

Going forward, we will continue to develop and provide cashless payment services, including via QR codes, to contribute to the revitalization of local economies throughout Japan.

(*1) The joint venture consists of The Bank of Yokohama (President: Yasuyoshi Oya ), Qoil Inc. (President: Kentaro Od a), ATM Japan, Ltd. (President: Hiroshi Nakano) , and NETSTARS Co., Ltd.

(*2)Kanagawa Pay is an application specifically designed for this project that uses a unified QR code determined by the joint venture. It supports QR code payment for Hama Pay, LINE Pay, d-barai (Docomo Pay), au PAY, and Rakuten Pay.

Overview
・ Up to 20% of the amount paid with Kanagawa Pay at participating stores during the Kanagawa Pay eligibility period will be returned to the user in points. (Total amount: 7 billion yen)
* A maximum of 4,000 points will be provided per individual (1 point = 1 yen).
* In order to participate in this campaign, users must download and register to use Kanagawa Pay and other eligible QR code payment services supported by the app.
