Service users now can apply for up to five Japanese and international payment brands at once

NetStars Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Tsuyoshi Ri; hereinafter “NetStars”) has expanded its QR code payment platform service StarPay to support the implementation of QR code payment for online transactions.This enables QR code payment using a smartphone for billing and transactions in mobile games and applications.

The first five brands supported are PayPay, LINE Pay, Merpay, WeChat Pay, and Alipay.

Service users must link their NetStars-provided API to their own services in other to implement these new payments.

NetStars launched the StarPay service in 2015, which offers stores and other businesses one-stop contracting, implementation, and management of more than 20 Japanese and international QR code payment services. More than 200,000 stores use StarPay as of today.We believe that QR code payments, which have achieved broad recognition as a means of in-store payment, will provide more convenience, and that usage of these payments will expand as they become available for processing payment via smartphone services and browser-based websites, each of which has become essential amid stay-at-home lifestyles.

Going forward, we plan to further expand the number of payment brands supported in addition to the current five leading Japanese and international brands.In the post-COVID era, we will work to promote digital transformation (DX) among corporations and boost convenience for consumers by promoting the spread of QR code and cashless payments.
