Japan’s first cooperation with banks! “WeChat Pay”, “Alipay” and “LINE Pay” debut with The Bank of Okinawa as an OEM partner of Netstars’ the multi-payment platform! -Acquiring as “Okigin StarPay”-

Netstars Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Tokyo; Tsuyoshi Ri, Representative Director & President; hereinafter “Netstars”) announced today that it has formed a business alliance with The Bank of Okinawa, Ltd. (headquartered in Naha City, Okinawa; Masayasu Yamashiro, President; hereinafter “The Bank of Okinawa”) as an OEM partner of “StarPay” provided by Netstars.

 

On November 12, 2018, The Bank of Okinawa started acquiring the member store management service of “WeChat Pay”, “Alipay” and “LINE Pay” using the original multi-payment platform “Okigin StarPay”. As an OEM partner of “StarPay”, this is the first time for a bank to implement an acquiring business in Japan. “Okigin StarPay” plans to expand the mobile (QR code settlement) brands starting with the handling of these three brands.

 

Through this service, together with The Bank of Okinawa, Netstars will promote the spread of mobile (QR code) payments within Okinawa Prefecture and will do the best to contribute to the promotion of cashless in the prefecture. Besides, Netstars will endeavour to improve the services so that can contribute to attracting customers and improving sales activities in Okinawa.
